The Eyes of Tammy Faye
In the struggle between faith and wealth, the victory is clear for Mammon in this director's delightfully tacky true story regarding the shamed televangelist plus her lawbreaking partner. Garfield plays the venal Jim, who states early on, claiming divine approval for wealth. He and Tammy Faye commence profiting from the people's Christian beliefs. It's a riot of tacky decor, excessive cosmetics and hypocrisy, however Jessica Chastain manages to show the character with compassion. Tuesday 14 October, early morning, the Film4 channel
